Principle of the Day side note

I just wanted to draw attention to the Principle of the Day. I changed it and it's on the side so I didn't know if people would see it. Football Game

My little brother Daniel is not quite so little anymore. In fact, he's just as tall if not taller than me. We went to his game this last Saturday and they won!!! We had a lot of fun and I made a fool of myself cheering at the wrong times because I don't understand football when there's no one comentating. I know, kind of sad isn't it? I screamed when Daniel's team lost the ball on the 4th down. Oh well, we got a good laugh out of it. It's so fun to have this kind of thing to go to on a Saturday. Go diggers!(I only say that because he is one...) Thanks Daniel for playing so we can come support you!



As you can probably guess, he's #27. He plays a receiver on offense and safety on defense. He's a good athlete I think. He's looking forward to playing basketball this winter and lacross I believe in the spring. It's kind of wierd to have a jock in the family after so many years of band. But very exciting!

Open to Readers

Ok, so I made my blog open and we'll see how it goes. I just really want to invite some people to see it, but don't have everyone's e-mail addresses to invite them. Hopefully nothing creepy happens....

What else is there?

I know, lately, all I post about is Ammon. I hope it's not boring to anyone, he's just my life and the most exciting part of it. It's amazing how fast he has been picking up on things. Tuesday I went into his room because he didn't stay asleep when I laid him down and what do I find? Him standing in his crib!!! It was quite surprising. So what did I do? I told him to stay there and ran and got the camera, ha ha.
This picture is way cute. Sunday he slept through almost all of church!!! It was a wonderful and welcome miracle! This is how he was sleeping in his car seat. I guess he doesn't really need a binkie after all as he was sucking on his own tongue.
He is now pretty consistently crawling on all fours, except when he just doesn't have the patience and he needs to get somewhere fast. Tonight he ate a bunch of zesty tomato crunchies. He loves them! Thanks Aunt Meg!

So this video doesn't do Ammon justice. He's come up with a new game. He gets a little toy like a block or anything that can fit in the palm of his hand and he'll be crawling around. He'll shake his hand around until it flies out of his hand and then he'll go chase it. It reminds me of a cat. It's great.

My little buddy

I love Ammon so much. He is so fun to be with everyday. He's starting to point at things and wave a little bit when he sees people. He can cruise and here are some videos. He makes me so happy!

Pride and Prejudice

Yesterday I watched Pride and Prejudice, the BBC version while Matt was doing his homework. He kept saying that he hated it and asked if I would go in our room to watch it. lol, I went into our room and then he came in a few minutes after and started watching with me telling me how dumb it was. So I asked him if he'd ever seen it, and even though he had in one of his classes, he didn't pay attention. So as he watched, he started asking questions and finished it with me. I had a sneaking suspicion that he enjoyed it, and today I looked at facebook and he had written that he likes it! I knew he would! It was great to read that.

Stress

I just need to vent a little I think...School is hard! And I'm not even going to school! So far this has been the toughest semester for Matt and me. His calculus class is grueling, and VERY time consuming, he's got a lot of stress at work, goes to school, comes home and has to help out with Ammon and do his homework. He's pretty overwhelmed. And poor, pathetic little Kathie gets exhausted after being with Ammon all day! It's so pathetic. I feel like I don't do anything and that I should be able to do more during the day and to help Matt out. It's horrible for us to look ahead too and know that he won't even get his ASSOCIATES for two more years....I don't know how we'll survive more stress and business, but somehow I have faith that the Lord will increase our capacities to handle what is to come. I really don't have anything to complain about, I shouldn't. But it's hard for me sometimes, I don't know why. I feel so old sometimes...lol. I really am pathetic. I always go through a few days feeling so tired and overwhelmed and then Heavenly Father helps me find strength and motivation and then things get much better. I'll just keep doing my best. I pray that Matt will be able to cope and accomplish what he needs to and still find time to relax so he can lower his blood pressure. I pray also that I will do more to lessen his stresses at home. Sorry, this is a boring post and really only for me to write my feelings down so I can move on, so thanks for your patience.

Catch up

Wow! I've been so lazy. I have had a lot of time and have just been too lazy to sit down at the computer for a couple of minutes to write some things down. I really was going to get myself caught up with my last post, but just as I finished that one Ammon woke up. ha ha. Such is life right? That's ok, Ammon's a blast to be with. My mother-in-law told me that she heard somewhere(you know, through her friend's daughter's husband's son's aunt...just kidding) that around I think 8 or 9 months babies tend to learn something new or noticeable improve on a certain skill almost every day. It's been amazing, Ammon seems to have hit that point. In just a matter of a little over a week it seems like(of course I'm no judge on time, I can't believe it's already September15!) Ammon is saying his 'd's', crawling around really fast, spitting(what a wonderful talent), drooling even more-if that's possible-, laughing more, and pulling himself up to stand using furniture and just within the past couple of days he's learned how to cruise. He used to only go one direction so he would just go around the coffee table, I think he's learned today how to go the other way. It's so entertaining.

I haven't been up to anything new, in fact I've been really lazy. But Matt and I have been working on changing our diet to eating healthy snacks and not eating so much at a time so we can lose some weight. He has started waking up to lift weights and stuff and I have yet to motivate myself again to do some exercise, sad isn't it? He's crazy busy with work and school and Ammon can be quite the handful, as much as I love him, I just can't hold him ALL day...

Sue's puppies sleeping. The girl is Myah on the left and the boy Daks is on the right.I got a Baby Einstein DVD from the library and put Ammon in the car seat so I could get his food together. He will actually smile at some parts. His focus on some things is amazing.
This is at Grandma Sue's basement. He loves standing to play. He played in this little area we baracaded while we got the walls ready to paint in the basement.

Slacker

Sorry about the lack of posts for such a long time. I have been reading like a crazy woman! Well, since it has been so long I'm going to consolidate what's been happening because I just can't remember quite everything I had thought of writing along the way.

Over Labor Day weekend our little family took a little trip up to Logan for a vacation and visited my best friend roommate from College. We had a great weekend with lots of laughs and it is always so fun to go up to Logan and have memories of our dating life come back to us, that of course being where Matt and I met. It was kind of funny, as we drove out of Salt Lake I thought "wouldn't it be horrible if I left the video card from the camera plugged into the computer?" Well, I didn't think anymore about it until I pulled out the camera when we got to the park for a picnic, and lo and behold!!! The video card was at home plugged into the computer. We did take some pictures with our phones, and luckily they are pretty good quality.
